Where to Go in Phuket by Bike
If you already have a bike in Phuket, there is no reason to limit yourself to the road between the hotel and the beach. Here is a ready-made day route with viewpoints, southern beaches, sunset at the cape, and an evening market in Phuket Town.
Ready-Made Day Route
Start in the morning with Big Buddha and Karon Viewpoint, then head down to Nai Harn and Ya Nui, catch sunset at Promthep, and finish in Old Town and Chillva Market. It covers the island’s signature views without turning the day into a marathon.
7 stops on the route
Big Buddha
45-meter marble Buddha statue on top of Nakkerd Hill — Phuket's iconic landmark. Visible from anywhere in the south. Construction ongoing for 20+ years on donations.
Tip: Steep road — 1st-2nd gear. Windy on top, stunning panorama. Free parking.
Karon Viewpoint
Iconic panorama of three beaches — Kata Noi, Kata, and Karon — from above. Classic Phuket postcard view. Small platform, but worth the stop.
Tip: Morning (before 10 AM) — softer light, better photos. Evening — backlit but dramatic clouds.
Nai Harn Beach
Locals' favorite beach in the south. Calm lagoon, few waves, Buddhist monastery on the hill. Perfect for swimming with kids and long relaxation.
Tip: In season (Nov–Apr) water is crystal clear. Nearby lake for kayaking — 200 ฿/hour.
Ya Nui Beach
Tiny scenic bay between Nai Harn and Promthep Cape. Rocks, crystal-clear water, kayak rental. Windmills nearby — one of the top photo spots in the south.
Tip: Snorkeling by the rocks on the right — lots of fish. Combine with Windmill Viewpoint nearby.
Promthep Cape
Phuket's southernmost point and Thailand's most famous sunset spot. 270° panorama — Andaman Sea, islands, lighthouse. A must-see for every Phuket visitor.
Tip: Arrive 30 min before sunset — best spots at the railing go fast. Free parking.
Phuket Old Town
Heart of Phuket — Sino-Portuguese houses, murals, craft cafés, galleries. Every alley is a photo spot. Thalang Road, Soi Romanee, Phang Nga Road — walk and enjoy.
Tip: Morning or evening — too hot at midday. Sunday evening — Lard Yai walking street market.
Chillva Market
Hipster container night market in Phuket Town. Street food, craft cocktails, live music, young crowd. Trendy alternative to traditional markets.
Tip: Open Tue–Sat 5–11 PM. Container design — very photogenic.
